An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for Southeast Pinal County, Tohono O'odham Nation, Tucson Metro Area, Upper Gila River Valley, and Western Pima County.
The warning is in effect from Friday at 10:00 AM MST until Saturday at 8:00 PM MST.

Impact & Risks

The extreme heat conditions are expected to impact vulnerable populations, including the elderly, children, and outdoor workers. Heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke are a significant risk during this period. The high overnight temperatures will exacerbate the situation by not allowing the body to cool down, particularly in areas like the Western Deserts. Additionally, car interiors can reach lethal temperatures within minutes, posing a danger to children and pets left unattended.
