Reliable and consistent air quality data are essential for effective environmental and public health policies. High-resolution data help identify local pollution sources, assess chronic exposure, and distinguish between local and transboundary pollution. Recent advancements in satellite measurements, ground monitoring, and computational tools have made it possible to generate near real-time, standardised air quality data. This is particularly crucial for India, where sparse monitoring systems have historically limited the ability to assess pollution exposure accurately.
