Solar energy has proven to be the cheapest electricity source in India. Farmers using solar-powered irrigation systems have reported annual savings of ₹5,000 to ₹6,500 per acre. Additionally, decentralized solar energy generation costs ₹3-4 per unit, much lower than grid electricity prices. Agrivoltaics, where solar panels are installed above farmland, allows simultaneous crop cultivation and energy production, doubling farmers' income potential.
