Vehicles contribute about a quarter of Delhi's air pollution, with two- and three-wheelers responsible for nearly half of vehicular emissions. Transitioning to EVs can significantly reduce roadside emissions, improving public health and air quality. Delhi's earlier shift to compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles laid the groundwork for this new initiative.
