Frostbite often affects areas with less fur, such as the ears, tail, and paws, and may not be immediately noticeable. Hypothermia, a dangerous drop in body temperature, can cause shivering, lethargy, and weakness. If you suspect either condition, bring your pet indoors, warm them gradually with blankets or warm (not hot) water, and contact your veterinarian immediately.
