Biogas technology offers a sustainable solution for rural households by converting livestock waste into clean energy and organic fertiliser.
Learn how this approach can reduce costs, improve soil health, and support sustainable agriculture.

The EKAFI Biogas Project in Haryana

Implemented in Kaithal and Kurukshetra districts of Haryana, the EKAFI Biogas Project introduced household biogas systems to smallholder farming communities. Targeting families with two to ten cattle and small agricultural landholdings, the project deployed 250 biodigesters. These systems generate clean cooking gas and nutrient-rich bioslurry, reducing dependence on LPG and chemical fertilisers while improving waste management and soil health.
