Heatwaves are becoming more frequent, intense, and prolonged due to climate change. In India, the 2010 heatwave saw temperatures soar above 47°C, leading to over 2,000 deaths. Heat can kill in multiple ways, including organ failure, dehydration, and heatstroke. Staying hydrated, avoiding direct sunlight, and using cooling measures are essential during such events. Urban areas are particularly vulnerable due to the heat island effect, which exacerbates temperature increases.
