Cholera, typhoid fever, and viral hepatitis A and E are among the most common waterborne diseases during the monsoon. Cholera outbreaks are often linked to contaminated municipal water supplies and flooding. Typhoid fever, caused by Salmonella Typhi, is primarily transmitted through faeco-oral routes via contaminated food and water. Viral hepatitis A and E are also associated with poor sanitation and unsafe drinking water, disproportionately affecting children and rural communities. These diseases can lead to severe health complications if not addressed promptly.
