Car ACs work by removing heat from the air, not by producing cold air. When recirculation is used, the system works with progressively cooler air from inside the cabin rather than constantly cooling hot air from outside. This allows the AC to operate more efficiently, especially when the outside temperature is high, such as 35°C or above.
