US · Published Jun 18, 2026
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has issued an update on the remnants of Arthur, a trough of low pressure currently located over the southeastern United States.
The system is producing showers and thunderstorms and has a low chance (10%) of developing into a subtropical or tropical system over the next 48 hours or seven days.

Why It's Important?

The remnants of Arthur are expected to bring significant rainfall to the southeastern United States, increasing the risk of flash flooding in affected areas. Residents in low-lying and flood-prone regions should remain vigilant and monitor local forecasts. Gale warnings are also in effect for parts of the region, posing additional risks for marine activities.
