The NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) is actively monitoring geomagnetic activity using the Planetary K-index.
This index measures disturbances in Earth's magnetic field and is updated every three hours.

Why It's Important?

Geomagnetic storms can have significant impacts on critical infrastructure, including power grids, satellite systems, and radio communications. High levels of geomagnetic activity may also enhance auroral displays, visible in higher latitudes. Operators of affected systems and aurora enthusiasts are advised to monitor updates closely.
