• An atmospheric river is expected to bring significant moisture to the West Coast, starting this week and continuing into mid-November.
• According to Grays Harbor County Emergency Management, periods of rain began on Wednesday, with additional systems forecasted to bring consistent rainfall through the weekend.

Impact & Risks

The atmospheric river is expected to impact much of the West Coast, including the Pacific Northwest, northern/central California, and high elevations of the Cascades. Coastal areas may experience gusty winds, high surf, and hazardous wave activity. While river flooding is not anticipated at this time, continued rainfall will raise river levels. Moderate risks of heavy precipitation and flooding are forecasted for November 11 to 15, with slight risks extending to November 17. High winds are also possible along the immediate coastline during this period, posing risks to infrastructure and travel.
