Ticks, known for carrying diseases, are increasingly becoming a concern not just in wooded areas but also in backyards.
According to Consumer Reports, ticks thrive in cool, shady spots and tall grass.
To reduce their presence, homeowners are advised to keep grass trimmed to about 3 inches, clear away yard debris, and create a three-foot barrier of wood chips or gravel between lawns and wooded areas.

Why It's Important?

Ticks pose a health risk as they can transmit diseases such as Lyme disease. Homeowners with tall grass, damp areas, or properties near wooded regions are particularly vulnerable. Children and pets playing in the yard are at higher risk of exposure. Without proper precautions, ticks can easily latch onto humans or animals, increasing the likelihood of disease transmission.
