Aurora Borealis Forecast for North America Tonight and Tomorrow
US · Published Jun 18, 2026
The NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) has released an experimental forecast for the aurora borealis over North America for tonight and tomorrow night.
Using the OVATION model, the forecast predicts the intensity and location of auroral activity between 6 PM and 6 AM Central Time.

Why It's Important?

Auroral activity is expected to be visible in higher latitudes, with the potential for more intense displays under favorable conditions. Observers in northern regions may have the best viewing opportunities. No significant risks are associated with this natural phenomenon, but visibility depends on weather and light pollution.
