According to the Capital Weather Gang, highs are expected to remain in the 90s through Wednesday, potentially challenging or breaking several temperature records. For instance, Dulles International Airport recorded 95°F (35°C) on Monday, surpassing its previous record of 91°F (33°C) set in
Baltimore also reached 95°F (35°C), just shy of its record of 97°F (36°C). A cold front is forecast to arrive late Wednesday, bringing showers and storms, followed by a significant cooldown with highs in the 60s and 70s (°F) for the remainder of the week.
