Wildfires cause destruction in Georgia and Florida
Wildfires are currently engulfing southeastern Georgia and northern Florida, causing widespread destruction and prompting emergency responses. The fires, fueled by severe drought and strong winds, have already destroyed nearly 50 homes in Georgia. The Georgia Forestry Commission has implemented an unprecedented burn ban due to the extremely dry conditions, with the region receiving only 11 inches of rain since September, far below normal levels.
