The U.S. Coast Guard is actively searching for six individuals who went missing after their vessel, the Mariana, lost contact following Typhoon Sinlaku. The cargo ship reported engine failure on April 15, leading to a failed communication attempt on April 16 and the initiation of a search and rescue operation. An HC-130 Hercules aircraft was deployed but had to return due to severe weather conditions. The Mariana's last known position was approximately 140 miles north-northwest of Saipan.
