Severe storms have impacted Rivian's Normal plant in Illinois, causing a section of the roof to collapse due to wind gusts reaching up to 85 mph. The damage occurred on Building 2, a newer part of the facility associated with the R2 assembly. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and the damage appears to be confined to a receiving area with semitrailer truck stalls. Photos shared on social media and by the McLean County EMA show interior and exterior damage to the plant. Rivian is currently evaluating the full extent of the damage, but details are still unclear.
