Cooler air moving in from the north
According to the latest weather models, below-normal temperatures are forecasted across much of the United States. This pattern is expected to persist over the coming days, with cooler air moving in from the north. The National Weather Service (NWS) has indicated that a cold front will bring temperatures significantly lower than the seasonal average, affecting large portions of the Midwest and Northeast. The cold air mass is anticipated to result in daytime highs struggling to reach above freezing in some areas, while nighttime lows could dip into the teens. This weather pattern is attributed to a high-pressure system settling over the region, which is steering colder air southward.
