Xcel Energy is proactively implementing Enhanced Power Safety Settings in anticipation of strong winds expected to impact the Front Range area of Colorado. This precautionary measure is designed to reduce the risk of power outages and protect the electrical infrastructure during the anticipated weather event. The Enhanced Power Safety Settings involve adjusting the sensitivity of the electrical grid to automatically shut off power in areas where strong winds are detected, preventing potential damage and reducing the likelihood of wildfires caused by downed power lines. While these settings are in place, some customers may experience temporary power interruptions.
