The Lyrid meteor shower, one of the oldest recorded meteor showers, is currently visible in Southeast Michigan until April 25. Although the peak occurred on April 21 into the morning of April 22, meteors can still be seen over the next few nights. The Lyrids are known for their bright and fast meteors, typically producing between 10 and 20 meteors per hour during peak times. Optimal viewing conditions are during the predawn hours, especially away from city lights, allowing viewers to see the meteors more clearly.
