Mariana found capsized after Typhoon Sinlaku impact
The U.S. Coast Guard has confirmed the discovery of a capsized U.S. cargo ship, the Mariana, in the Northern Mariana Islands following the impact of Typhoon Sinlaku. The vessel, which was used to transport cargo between Guam, Tinian, and Saipan, lost contact with the Coast Guard on April 15, 2026, as the typhoon approached. The ship's starboard engine had been reported disabled while it was located approximately 125 to 140 miles north-northwest of Saipan.
