Heavy rains cause vibrant bloom in California
Carrizo Plain National Monument in San Luis Obispo County, California, is currently experiencing a vibrant spring bloom, thanks to the heavy rains in February. The monument, known for its wildflowers that bloom from March through April, has attracted hundreds of daily visitors. Although the bloom's peak has passed, the hills remain green, and meadows are dotted with colorful flowers like tidy tips, Goldfields, and Owl's Clover. Soda Lake still holds water, creating a striking contrast with the green hills.
