Alabama is enhancing its severe weather detection capabilities through a partnership with Climavision, addressing gaps in radar coverage, especially in southwestern Alabama. This collaboration aims to equip the Alabama Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) and local emergency managers with improved visibility into weather conditions, facilitating more effective responses to severe weather events. Climavision's advanced radar technology will be deployed in regions historically underserved by existing radar systems, known as 'radar gaps.' These installations will provide previously inaccessible data, significantly improving situational awareness for emergency responders and the public.
