Wind advisory in effect for Reno-Carson area
A wind advisory has been issued for the Greater Reno-Carson City-Minden Area, effective from 11 AM to 11 PM PDT on Wednesday. According to KTVN, southwest winds are expected to reach sustained speeds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts potentially hitting 50 mph. In wind-prone areas along US-395/I-580, gusts could reach up to 60 mph. The advisory warns that these gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects, potentially causing tree limbs to fall and leading to power outages. Additionally, winds may knock down burned trees in the Davis Fire burn area.
