Cleanup begins after severe Midwest tornadoes
Following a weekend of severe weather, including at least 66 tornadoes, communities across the Upper Midwest have initiated extensive cleanup operations. The storms inflicted significant property damage and caused widespread power outages across Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Marion Township in Minnesota reported damage to approximately 30 homes, with a dozen sustaining major damage. In Illinois, McClean County declared a disaster emergency in Bloomington, while the village of Lena suffered substantial damage from an EF-2 tornado.
