Published in Environmental Research Letters, the research indicates that human-induced global heating is causing summer conditions to arrive earlier and last longer. Globally, summers are extending by about six days per decade, but Sydney is seeing a more pronounced increase of approximately 15 days per decade. This means that the city's summer now starts almost a month earlier compared to the 1960s.
