Climate Resilience Project Launched in Central Jamaica

ADAPT Jamaica, a US$50 million project, launches to aid small farmers in central Jamaica against climate challenges.
Over 736,000 individuals, including 334,421 women, will benefit from climate-smart farming and improved water systems.

US$50M project supports Jamaican small farmers
The ADAPT Jamaica project, backed by a US$50 million investment from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), has been launched to support vulnerable small farmers in six central parishes of Jamaica. The project aims to enhance the agricultural sector's ability to withstand climate-related challenges such as hurricanes, droughts, and erratic rainfall. Over 736,000 individuals, including 334,421 women, are set to benefit from the integration of climate-smart farming practices and improved water and post-harvest systems.
