Wildfires surge due to drought, mild winter
The United States is grappling with an escalating wildfire crisis, driven by extensive drought conditions and an unusually mild winter. Since the start of the year, nearly 19,000 wildfires have erupted nationwide, surpassing the average of the previous decade by approximately 6,900 incidents. These fires have already consumed nearly 1 million acres of land, causing significant damage to ecosystems and economic sectors.
