The City of Lawrence has adjusted its annual compost event to a self-load format following recent severe thunderstorms. This change allows residents to dispose of yard waste, including grass, leaves, and brush, at the compost facility located at 1420 E. 11th St. The event will take place on Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants must bring their own tools, as city equipment will not be available.
