Rip currents lead to loss of lives
On April 15, 2026, a tragic incident occurred at Cocoa Beach, Florida, where two people died because of extreme rip currents. Four swimmers were caught in these currents, leading to a rescue by the Cocoa Beach Fire Department. Sadly, two of the swimmers were declared dead at Cape Canaveral Hospital. They were reportedly trying to save a child who had been pulled away by the currents; the child was unharmed.
