Early Wednesday morning, an EF-1 tornado struck Ann Arbor, Michigan, resulting in significant damage to local infrastructure. Confirmed by the National Weather Service, the tornado reached peak winds of 110 mph and touched down near Jackson Avenue and Interstate 94 at approximately 1:44 a.m. It traveled southeast, significantly impacting Veterans Memorial Park and nearby residential neighborhoods. The storm caused extensive damage, including uprooted trees, snapped light poles, and the collapse of the east wall of the Veterans Memorial Park ice arena. Additionally, the University of Michigan's Yost Ice Arena sustained damage to its metal roof, and an elementary school experienced partial roof failure. The tornado lifted around 1:46 a.m. after traveling 1.7 miles.
