Strong Santa Ana winds reaching 50 mph fueled the fire, damaging at least one home, and three individuals were hospitalized for possible smoke inhalation.
Yearling Fire 90% contained after rapid spread
The Yearling Fire, a brush fire in Riverside County, is now 90% contained after igniting on Wednesday afternoon. The fire rapidly spread across approximately 38 acres, fueled by strong Santa Ana winds reaching up to 50 mph. Firefighters from Cal Fire and Corona Fire, totaling 110 personnel, utilized 30 engines, four hand crews, two dozers, and a water tender truck to combat the blaze. While at least one home was damaged, no structures were reported destroyed. Three individuals were hospitalized for possible smoke inhalation, highlighting the health risks associated with such incidents.
