A proposed $45 million agriculture bond, intended to invest in agriculture, farming, and forestry programs, has encountered significant obstacles in the Maine Legislature. Despite the bond's potential to provide essential resources to farmers dealing with drought conditions, it failed to pass through the House of Representatives. Efforts to attach the bond language to another bill, LD 299, were also unsuccessful, as the House voted against enactment, effectively halting the bond's progress.
