Rain helps slow Georgia wildfires over weekend
Over the weekend, significant rainfall helped to slow down two major wildfires in southern Georgia, as reported by AP News. The Highway 82 Fire and the Pineland Road Fire have collectively destroyed more than 100 homes, causing widespread displacement and damage. Despite the welcome precipitation, the fires are not yet fully contained, and firefighters are currently battling ten new blazes across the drought-stricken state.
