A horse was successfully rescued from a flooded creek in Marengo, Illinois, after being stranded due to heavy rainfall from overnight storms. The Marengo Fire and Rescue Districts responded to an animal water rescue call on Saturday morning, following reports that Coon Creek had overflowed. The horse was found approximately 600 feet from the nearest shore, standing on a small peninsula surrounded by fast-moving water.
