Severe storms and tornadoes have impacted Texas and surrounding states, marking the sixth consecutive day of intense weather across the southern United States. On Tuesday evening, a tornado struck Mineral Wells, Texas, causing injuries and structural damage in northeastern Palo Pinto County. The severe weather system brought hail as large as grapefruits, tornadoes, and damaging winds across the region. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Level 4 of 5 risk for severe thunderstorms in northeast Texas, including the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. A slightly lower risk extends to parts of Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Mississippi, indicating a widespread threat.
