A significant risk of severe thunderstorms is expected to impact the Midwest and Northeast regions of the United States through the weekend, bringing with it the potential for tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail. This follows a series of tornadoes earlier in the week that affected the Upper Midwest and Corn Belt, causing significant damage. The most intense of these was an EF3 tornado near Hillsboro and Union Center in Wisconsin, with winds reaching 140 mph. Additionally, an EF1 tornado struck Ann Arbor, Michigan, and large hail was reported in Madison, Wisconsin.
