Unseasonal rains and hailstorms have significantly impacted Indian agriculture, particularly affecting wheat crops across several states. Approximately 2.49 lakh hectares of rabi crops have been damaged, with wheat bearing the brunt of the impact. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced these figures, prompting a swift response from the government and the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Heavy rains and hailstorms from April 2nd to 8th exacerbated the challenges faced by farmers.
