An air quality alert has been issued for the Coachella Valley and Imperial County in California due to high levels of air pollution caused by windblown dust. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued the alert, effective from Wednesday evening until Thursday night. The South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) has also issued an advisory, noting that the dust may be exacerbated by fire activity in the region.
