Super Typhoon Sinlaku, the strongest tropical cyclone of the year, has struck the Northern Mariana Islands, causing widespread devastation. The typhoon made landfall on Tuesday night with sustained winds of 150 mph (240 kph), resulting in significant damage across Saipan and Tinian. WEKU reports severe flooding, uprooted trees, and downed power lines, leaving many areas without electricity and water. The islands are experiencing impassable roads and extensive infrastructure damage, including severe flooding at Saipan's only hospital.
