The ongoing severe weather is impacting millions across the Midwest, Ohio Valley, and Northeast. Over 770,000 customers are without power in Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana due to damaging winds, which have reached speeds of 90 to 100 mph in some areas. Flash flooding remains a significant concern, particularly in regions with saturated soils and steep terrain, such as West Virginia. A Level 3 flash flood risk has been issued for parts of eastern Indiana, southern Ohio, western West Virginia, and northern Kentucky. The cumulative rainfall and repeated storms are expected to exacerbate flooding risks, potentially leading to property damage, travel disruptions, and dangerous conditions for residents.
