• The system, currently developing in the Bay of Campeche, has the potential to strengthen into Tropical Storm Isaias.

Impact & Risks

Heavy rain is the primary concern for areas along the northern Gulf Coast, including Alabama, Georgia, the Florida Panhandle, southeast Louisiana, and Mississippi. Flash flooding is possible, with several inches of rain expected. Depending on the storm's strength and track, storm surge flooding and strong winds could also impact coastal areas. The earliest these effects could arrive is late Friday or Saturday. Historical data shows late-season storms in October and November can be destructive, though El Niño conditions may limit the storm's intensity.
