Red Flag Warning Issued for Carson City Area
• The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Carson City, surrounding counties in western Nevada, and portions of the eastern Sierra in California due to gusty winds and low humidity. The warning is in effect from noon to 10 p.m. on Friday, September 25,
• Winds are expected to reach 20–30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, while humidity levels may drop as low as 17 percent. These conditions significantly increase the risk of wildfires spreading rapidly before containment efforts can be initiated. Additionally, a Lake Wind Advisory is in effect from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for Lake Tahoe and nearby reservoirs, warning of hazardous conditions for small watercraft due to strong winds and rough waves.
