• Other areas such as Narela, Rohini, and RK Puram also reported severe air quality. Several locations, including Okhla Phase-2 and India Gate, recorded AQI levels in the very poor category, while a few areas like Anand Vihar and Lodhi Road reported poor air quality. The worsening pollution is attributed to local emissions, stubble burning in neighbouring states, and unfavourable weather conditions.

Impact & Risks

The severe air quality poses significant health risks, particularly for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and those with respiratory or cardiovascular conditions. Prolonged exposure to such high pollution levels can lead to respiratory distress, eye irritation, and other health complications. The situation is expected to worsen in the coming days, especially with Diwali celebrations approaching, which may further increase pollution levels due to firecracker emissions. Residents in affected areas are likely to experience reduced visibility and discomfort due to the dense smog.
