Delhi experienced a much-needed respite from humid conditions on Thursday as light rain brought down temperatures to around 33°C.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast increased rain activity, with scattered thunderstorms expected later in the day.

Impact & Risks

The rainfall has provided relief to Delhi residents from the sweltering heat, but heavy rains in other states have caused disruptions, including road blockages, power outages, and water supply issues. In Himachal Pradesh, 166 roads and 130 power transformers have been affected, while Odisha is monitoring flood-hit areas. Fishermen in coastal regions have been advised to avoid venturing into the sea due to rough conditions.
