Delhi-NCR to Witness Rain, Thunderstorms, and Strong Winds
IN · Published Oct 10, 2026
• The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds for Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) over the next two days.
• This weather change is attributed to a western disturbance over northern Pakistan and an upper-air cyclonic circulation over Haryana and parts of north-west Uttar Pradesh.

Impact & Risks

The combination of rain, lightning, and strong winds is likely to disrupt outdoor activities and road travel across Delhi-NCR. Reduced visibility due to dust storms has already posed challenges for commuters. Additionally, the increased dust in the air has raised pollution concerns, particularly from construction activities. Authorities have issued show-cause notices to construction sites failing to comply with dust-control measures. The weather conditions may also exacerbate respiratory issues for sensitive groups.
