• The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather update for August 22, 2026, highlighting significant rainfall activity in parts of eastern India. A low-pressure area is likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal near the West Bengal-Bangladesh coasts within the next 24 hours. This system is expected to bring isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Odisha and Chhattisgarh for the next 2-3 days.
