• Heavy thunderstorms associated with a slow-moving front have brought significant rainfall to areas west of Houston, Texas. A Stage 1 flood alert has been issued for locations along and west of Highway 59/I-
• Rainfall totals have ranged from 1–2 inches in most areas, but some locations, such as Cypress and Waller, have recorded up to 4 inches. Western Montgomery County has seen even higher totals of 4–6 inches. The storms are expected to weaken by midnight, but additional rainfall of 1–2 inches is possible in some areas.

Impact & Risks

The primary risk is street flooding, particularly in areas currently experiencing heavy rainfall. Low-lying and poorly drained areas are most vulnerable. The flood alert is in place to mitigate risks and ensure public safety. While the rainfall has been manageable in most areas, isolated locations with higher totals may face more severe flooding impacts.
