A recent study published in the journal Science Advances reveals that nearly 50% of the wildfire-burned areas in the western United States over the past 25 years are linked to heatwaves.
The research, led by Dmitri Kalashnikov, highlights significant regional variations, with areas like the Idaho-Oregon-Nevada tristate region experiencing heatwave-related fires in two-thirds of their burned areas.
